What is PPWR and when does it apply?
PPWR is Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste. It entered into force on 11 February 2025 and its general application date is 12 August 2026. Individual requirements have their own dates and conditions. Packaging work needs to consider product properties, the business role and the market where packaging is made available.

Which packaging requirements need information?
Documentation work covers areas including composition and substances, design for recycling, recycled content, packaging minimisation, reuse and labelling. The applicable scope depends on category and use. For each area, identify the information required, its supporting document and the person responsible for reviewing the result.

Recyclability grades A, B and C need a basis
A grade must follow the appropriate method and data for the packaging assessed. Material names, colour or a supplier statement alone are insufficient to calculate a reliable grade independently. PPWR Link separates source data, assessment status and the review decision so a result does not conceal missing evidence or an applicability condition.

Are PPWR and BDO the same?
No. PPWR sets the EU packaging and packaging waste framework. BDO supports specified registration, record-keeping and reporting obligations in Poland.
