These documents have different purposes. A technical sheet describes product properties, a report presents particular test results and an EU declaration of conformity is a statement about meeting applicable requirements. Who prepares a packaging declaration of conformity?
PPWR connects the EU declaration of conformity to manufacturer responsibilities and the conformity assessment procedure. First establish which business holds that role for the packaging concerned. A business buying finished packaging begins by obtaining the appropriate documents; imports, own branding and design changes require assessment of responsibility in the particular case.

How to organise PPWR technical documentation
Collect the packaging description, composition, relevant specifications and evidence addressing the requirements under assessment. Link results to source documents so a reviewer can move from a value to its report or cited page. Retain the packaging version assessed. When materials, design or intended use change, check whether the previous evidence still applies.

Generate the document and share it with a customer
The dossier and declaration module uses data and assessments recorded in the application. Before approval, check packaging identity, applicable requirements, current evidence and the signatory’s authority. File generation supports preparation; it does not constitute independent certification. Share the appropriate document and selected information with the recipient through a passport.

Is there a universal PPWR certificate for every packaging item?
A declaration and its evidence must cover particular packaging and applicable requirements. A generic file without a defined scope does not address that task.
Does a QR passport replace a declaration of conformity?
No. A passport supports information sharing. The declaration of conformity and technical documentation serve separate functions.
